Jelly Cinema TV turns your own Jellyfin server into a living-room cinema on Android TV and Google TV: a big banner with trailers, Theater Mode, Top 10 rows from what your household watches, holiday rows that appear by themselves, Kids’ Home and profile PINs.

What you need

• A TV or streaming box with Android TV or Google TV, Android 7.0 or newer.
• A Jellyfin server with your own movies and shows. Jellyfin is free from jellyfin.org.
• The server’s address, for example http://192.168.1.20:8096, and your Jellyfin user name and password.

Getting started

1. Install Jelly Cinema TV from Google Play on your TV.
2. Connect. Pick your server from the list, or enter its address.
3. Sign in with your Jellyfin account, or use Quick Connect from the Jellyfin app on your phone.
4. Make it yours in Settings → Jelly Cinema: trailers, Theater Mode, rows, seasonal effects and profile PINs.

Price

The Google Play version costs $2.99, one time. That is a convenience fee for installing and updating through Google Play. It doesn’t buy extra features: the same app is free software under the GPL-2.0 licence, and its source code is linked in the app under Settings → About.
